The 8th Dutilleux Contest + VILLACOMPOSERS

Dear composers,
Very important :
After having been asked multiple times, we decided to accept mixed work with clarinet solo and tape and/or electronics.
We are pleased to welcome a new partner :
The “villa des compositeurs” is a Franco-Italian institution with which we are forming a new privileged partnership from the 8th Dutilleux Contest. This association will be determined by the beginning of October so we can present it to you in our next email. Meanwhile, you can discover this organisation by clicking the following link :
A novelty for composers registered to the 2016-2017 8th Dutilleux Contest !
Composers who will not have made it to the January 22nd 2017 finale will benefit a discard if they want to compete again in the next edition in 2019-2020. Indeed, composers who will have presented 1 work will benefit a 30 € discard and those who will have presented 2 or 3 works will benefit a 60 € discard.
Student composers will benefit a 50% discard on the student price.
These elements will be incorporated in the 9th Dutilleux Contest’s rules.
Every composer from the 8th Dutilleux Contest will also have a free (and unlimited in time) access to the website for musical creation which will be put online by the Dutilleux Contest.
This place is made for spreading concerning creation’s news like concerts, recordings, editions…
As soon as the month of August, as always !
– We are pleased to greet our latest partner : the Schott-Music editions.
Let’s welcome this great music publisher that used to work with Henri Dutilleux.
– Feel free to follow the Dutilleux Contest on Facebook and join its 4900 friends !
– Other information about the Contest :
The Dutilleux Contest invites each contest’s finalists (who are often 6, depending on the year) to stay in France during the finale. Accomodations and meals are fully covered.
Travel costs are refunded up to 500 € for each non-laureate finalist.
– You can send us your scores for the Contest via mail (meaning without postal sending, a real economy !).
Wishing you a nice musical autumn !
